Paintings on Swan Feathers by Ian Davie

Incredible enough, this comes from an artist who picked up a brush only six years ago. Ian Davie, a 46 year old artist, is getting fame for his marvelous paintings that he paints on the canvas provided by nature; swan feather. He collects naturally-fall feathers of swan each measuring 1 foot in length and 3 inches in width. He uses several fathers for a single sketch. These paintings are light, but they are selling for thousands of dollar a piece.

I would like to point again that he uses only those feathers that fell naturally every year during the shedding season. According to Ian, he first makes the sketch on a painter’s canvas and then port it to swan feathers due to the delicacy involved in painting on the feathers.
